We're here to connect you with the support you need to move forward. Below are local resources for food, housing, transportation, and more. If you're a client of Deep Roots, reach out to your Care Coordinator or Peer Support Specialist for personalized help.

Housing Help

We help connect individuals to safe, stable housing options that support recovery and reentry. Whether you're leaving treatment, jail, or unstable living, we can walk with you through the process of finding the right place to live. Services include: Support applying for sober-living or transitional housing Help with housing applications and references Access to basic furnishings (through partners like Furniture Mission) Transportation and help moving in (we provide a truck and moving help)

Transportation

We understand that lack of reliable transportation is a huge barrier to rebuilding life. We assist with short-term rides and connections to community programs. Support options: Local rides to job interviews, court dates, or treatment Bus pass applications and route planning Referral to Fix It Forward for donated vehicle consideration Help getting a driver's license or identification

ID / Documents

Many systems require documents like IDs and Social Security cards — and we’re here to help you get what you need to move forward. We can assist with: Applying for state-issued ID or driver’s license Ordering birth certificates and Social Security cards Setting up a bank account Filling out forms or online applications

Parenting & Family

For those rebuilding relationships with family or caring for children, we can connect you to supportive programs that promote healing and healthy relationships. Resources include: Parenting classes and support groups Connection to The Perry Center and similar agencies Help navigating CPS, custody, and family court Basic supply referrals (diapers, clothing, etc.)

Food Resources

Access to regular meals is vital for stability and health. We connect individuals with local food banks, community meals, and emergency food services across the Fargo–Moorhead area. Local resources: Emergency food pantries and hours of operation Hot meal sites and community kitchens Food vouchers and donation partners Help applying for SNAP/EBT benefits

Peer Support

You're not alone. Our trained Peer Support Specialists have lived experience and are here to walk beside you, helping you navigate next steps with care and understanding. Support includes: Weekly check-ins and goal setting Help navigating court, probation, or treatment plans Mentorship and emotional support Connection to long-term resources and education

Recovery & Mental Health

Recovery is a journey, and we help you access the right services and stay supported along the way. Partner services and referrals include: Outpatient treatment (Prairie St. John’s, ShareHouse, and others) Support groups and recovery meetings Trauma-informed therapy and equine-assisted services Assistance with medication, scheduling, and follow-up

At Deep Roots Recovery, every person matters.
